Welcome to J Smith Hoops Camps, where we provide a one of a kind experience for everyone involved. We use over 20 years of experience in working/directing basketball camps to allow each camper to enjoy camp while learning the game of basketball. We have a unique way of engaging campers in learning the fundamentals, how to play the game, and how to compete. No matter the skill level, we find ways to make sure campers are challenged in all camp activities. We are fortunate to have several sponsors that make our camps full of prizes and special gifts. Our goal is to light that fire inside to make the player want to go home and practice more. With JSH camps, campers will have so much fun that they forget they are learning!!!

Welcome to the J Smith Hoops Basketball camp. The Smith family have been organizing camps in the Birmingham area for over 20 years. They are known as basketball royalty in the hoops community as all 5 of the Smiths received full basketball scholarships. The J Smith Hoops team provides an organized camp that is a ton of fun for all ages. The coach to player ratio is excellent and allows for lots of reps and live play. Our high level coaching staff focuses on teaching the game the right way and creating habits that will last throughout a young players career.

Welcome to the Smokin Joe’s Basketball camp !!! Here is where we pay tribute to our founder/creator of J Smith Hoops, the eldest brother of the J Smith Hoops Team, Joe Smith. Joe is the oldest of 5 siblings (Joe, Jason, Jaime, Jordan, Jada) and started J Smith Hoops nearly 20 years ago, with a goal of having a family business where everyone could work together in the same community that helped shape the family on and off the court. This 4 day camp focuses on all of the lessons learned over the years to the Smith Family, that helped all 5 siblings receive full basketball scholarships, including the 3 boys playing professional basketball. Director, Coach Jason Smith, has taken the principles defined from this original camp and made it a year around basketball experience that has impacted thousands in the Birmingham community, the south and even around the World. We use the 4 day, 8 hour per day camp to build your game and from the ground up. Whether you are an experienced player or a beginner, we use the spacious facility at Hoover High School to divide players to what best fits their needs. From fundamentals, competitive play and our specialty of really learning how to play the game, the J Smith Hoops coaching staff excels at going beyond the basics. The Birmingham community has supported this camp for nearly 20 years, and we are excited for the next 20.
